Work alongside a friendly estate team at a beautiful estate in Oxfordshire with the opportunity to travel to Switzerland.Job Summary:Our client is looking for a professional and versatile domestic couple to look after their estate in Banbury. The principals usually visit the property on weekends, bank holidays and a bit more frequently in the summer weeks. They will entertain on average once, and max twice, for lunches and dinner parties, and around 8 to 10 times per year have weekend guests.The owners have a chalet in Switzerland which they use 5 to 6 times per year for long weekends/week stays (max 10 days), during this time the principals would like you to accompany them.This is a great position for a reliable and proactive couple. You will be required to be on duty at the weekends when the owners are in residence, including evenings, hardworking, long hours and intensity when hospitality being given.Days and hours otherwise are flexible so long as the job done well when the house is empty.DutiesHousekeeper duties will include but not be limited to:Oversee the day to day running of the houseTidying up after mealtimesLaundryArranging flowersAssistance with set up, pouring drinks, and serving when entertainingHousehold adminOverseeing contractors when neededCooking (to recipes provided) to a good dinner party standard (by at least one half of the couple)Allrounder duties will include but not be limited to:Responsible for the management and maintenance of the estate’s propertyHousekeeper assistance as needed (eg heavy lifting, log re-stocking)Entertaining supportLooking after the cars and occasional driving dutiesAssist with the garden team as and when requiredThere are dogs (setters) and a cat to be looked after living at the, though on your days off care will be done by the gardeners.Candidate requirementsThis role will suit an experienced high-calibre couple, who are responsible, self-starters and can work with little instruction. The estate is informal, and they are looking for approachable and friendly staff. There are another 4 staff members living on the estate, so it is important that you can work well as part of a team.You will need to understand the importance of being flexible, and although there will be busy times and long hours this will be balanced out with quieter times. In additional you will be happy to travel to Switzerland in advance of the family to prepare the Chalet and support them for the duration of the trip.
